Tuesday, May 8, 2018 - 16:30

Livestock, Environment and People (LEAP) Conference

07th November 2018

St Anne’s College, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6HS

A multi-disciplinary research conference on the effects of meat and dairy on population health, the economy, society and the environment

The LEAP conference, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust Our Planet Our Health initiative, will bring together researchers working on multiple aspects of meat and dairy production and consumption to consider its effects on population health, the economy, society and the environment. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for the presentation of recent multidisciplinary research and build a community of researchers in this field to share evidence and tools to inform action.

The call for abstracts is now open

We will only consider abstracts for inclusion if they directly relate to the theme of the meeting. We are also keen for researchers at all levels to participate, especially PhD students and Post-Docs.

There will be opportunities for both short oral presentations (10 minutes, plus 5 minutes Q&A) and posters (A1/A0 portrait format).  Groups of researchers are welcome to submit a series of abstracts to be considered for presentation as a group.  If the total number of abstracts received requesting oral presentations exceeds the space available we will offer a poster slot as an alternative.

Please send the following information as a Word document to leap@oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk by 30th July 2018:

1. Name and Affiliation (if any)

2. Email contact

3. Title of paper

4. Brief Abstract (250-300 words)

5. Preference for oral or poster presentation

Successful applicants will be notified by the 1st September 2018.
