Professor Charles Godfray, Director of the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Food, recently gave the Florida Climate Institute distinguished scholar seminar sponsored by Kevin and Jeanette Malone on "The Role of Sustainable Intensification in Global Food Security".

You can watch his lecture on the University of Florida website.

In the lecture, Professor Godfray discusses Malthusian pessimism about population growth and food shortages, and the challenges of global food dynamics, ending hunger and creating sustainable food systems.

He then explains the concept of Sustainable Intensification as the dominant supply-side response to the challenge of global food security, including some examples of how this might be implemented.
