Andrew’s research interests cover a wide range of applications of mathematical modelling in the applied sciences, including geophysics, biology and industrial problems, and using analytical, asymptotic and numerical methods of analysis to obtain useful results.

He is the author of the book, Mathematical Geoscience (Springer 2011).

Of particular relevance to the food system is his recent work on biofilm and bioremediation, with applications in groundwater flow, and to the dispersal and removal of contaminant chemical species, including agricultural products such as phosphate and nitrate.
