Psychological and sociological factors contributing to food waste, safety and nutrition.

Thursday 21st January 2016, 12.45 – 5pm at Banbury Town Hall, Bridge St, Banbury OX16 5QB.

(Banbury is just one hour from London Marylebone by train, and 50 minutes from Birmingham. Banbury Town Hall is five minutes’ walk from the station.)

Speakers:

 

·      Dr David Evans (Sustainable Consumption Institute, University of Manchester)

David’s research focuses on the sociology, geography and anthropology of consumption with a particular interest in food and sustainability.

 

·      Professor Daniel Read (Warwick Business School)

Daniel’s research interests are in choice over time, impatience, strategic thinking and risky choice.

The afternoon will feature the above speakers, facilitated group work, and time for networking and informal discussion. The group work aims to explore our current knowledge about the overlaps between food waste, safety, and nutrition in terms of methods used, consumers’ perceptions and behaviours, and appropriate interventions.
