CCAFS Scenarios Officer

Joost Vervoort is the Scenarios Officer for CCAFS (Climate Change and Food Security) Programme.

CCAFS is a research programme run by the CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research).

His role involves organising multi-stakeholder, participatory workshops to develop scenarios of how key socio-economic uncertainties at the regional level interact with future climate change effects. In particular, these scenarios look at agricultural production and food security under climate change.

Joost is also interested in the communication of complexity in socio-ecological systems, including the use of interactive media and scenario visualisations to engage stakeholders.
