Tim’s research investigates the causes and consequences of dynamics of individual characters including obesity and behavior.
Tim’s research is in developing predictive models of individual character distributions. These characters can include BMI, other phenotypic traits or genotypes as well as wealth and behavioural traits including aspects of diet. Although much of his research focuses on field and laboratory studies of non-human animals, he has started developing models to understand and predict the consequences of the ongoing obesity epidemic. These models can be used to predict how future food demands as the human population grows, wealth increases and waistlines expand.
