The successful candidate will work on the Livestock, Environment and People (LEAP) programme. The amount and type of meat and dairy we consume, and the way they are produced, are critical drivers of global human health and environmental quality. The LEAP programme aims to understand the health, environmental, social and economic effects of meat and dairy production and consumption to provide evidence and tools for decision makers to promote healthy and sustainable diets.

You will be responsible for carrying out research in and modelling of livestock transitions, with the goal of creating a global livestock investment model. This project will involve collaborating with a number of external organisations, such as the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). Your duties will also include contributing ideas for new research projects and disseminating results of the programme though peer-reviewed journal articles and presentation of work at national and international conferences.

You must hold, or be close to completion of a PhD in a discipline related to the project, or equivalent experience. You will have proven experience in quantitative modelling of environmental system change and of contributing to publications and presentations. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with scholars, policy-makers, and industrial partners is essential. You will have the ability to present work concisely and clearly.

This is a full-time post offered for 2 years will be based at the Oxford Martin School.
