A Dialogue on Regenerative Agriculture

A dialogue on Regenerative Agriculture: Why is it taking the world by storm and what are the broader implications for farmers and food systems?
Dr Tara Garnett (TABLE) will be moderating a conversation between Dr Yichao Rui (Rodale Institute) and Prof Ken Giller (Wageningen UR)
Date: 11 May 2021, 14:00-15:15 BST, 15:00-16:15 CEST
Location: Online
The central question of this dialogue will be how each speaker understands the concept Regenerative Agriculture and reflects on its potential and limitations. This will lead us to a range of questions such as:
> How is Regenerative Agriculture different from Agroecology, Organic and Conventional?
> What is meant by soil biological health? Is it important?
> Does the science support the claims that Regenerative Agriculture makes?
> How should Regenerative Agriculture respond to corporate capture and greenwashing?
They’ll be practicing dialogue rather than debate, and having a conversation grounded in science, that will also bring about value-based reflections and conclusions.
They welcome students and researchers, NGOs, policymakers and food system professionals!
