Pete leads a team that evaluates population-level interventions for increasing healthy and sustainable diets. For example, he has studied the impact of food labelling, marketing and pricing on the behaviour of both consumers and the food industry. His work includes both empirical measurement of the impact of interventions and policies (e.g. measuring the impact of the Soft Drink Industry Levy on sugar levels in drinks) and modelling of the long-term impact of food system scenarios on health and the environment (e.g. reductions in consumption of animal-based foods).
